Donations of dog and cat food, cat litter, paper towels, bath towels, bleach, laundry soap and liquid dish soap are always welcome. Monetary donations include memorials, honorariums, and various holiday donations.

3. Foster Homes

Fostering an animal can be an extremely rewarding experience. The success of our foster home program is a great benefit-both to our adoption rate and to the emotional health of our shelter employees. Additionally, the animal that you foster is usually a more socialized, adoptable animal. In the interest of our animals, the following rules serve as a safety net for both the foster family and the fostered animals. You may fill out the Online Foster Home Agreement/Application or download/print/fill out and mail the pdf version of the Foster Home Agreement Form to:

It gives you a chance to learn about the mission, history and goals of the Humane Society. You MUST attend Volunteer Orientation prior to volunteering. After completing an application and attending a Volunteer orientation you will be prepared for this worthwhile duty. You will receive handouts, and outlines for information to share about the Society. When a request is made, you will be called to serve.

Volunteers are needed to visit schools, businesses, and special events to educate the citizens of East Texas. Last year hundreds of pet friend raising opportunities allowed the shelter staff to educate on pet responsibility and ownership, spay and neutering your animal, and loving and caring for your pet. But we need an army to reach everyone.
